Protocols
Digi Majou is Cantonese, Chinese and Canadian, and privileged to live amongst the Forest People on the unceded lands and waters of the shishalh Nation and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation.
Digi Majou Productions works to acknowledge the history, experiences and deep knowledge of local Indigenous communities in all our projects through inter-generational inclusivity, opportunities for cultural reciprocity, and providing honouraria/fees. I am always interested in learning about and following cultural protocols. If you are an Indigenous Knowledge carrier, please be in touch.
Process
Community diversity, engagement and empowerment are very important to me – and these values are embedded in every step of my film and art-making process through affirmative recruitment of participants, mentorship, participatory research and action, & creative collaboration that honours all levels of abilities and practice. I believe we are all learners, and have a lot to teach each other.
My art practice is very much steeped in a connection to Earth and to other humans, and coming together to create positive change through cultural learning, making art, tinkering with old and new electronic parts, play and performance.
If you are interested in these things too and would like to collaborate and/or hire me – please get in touch!
